Argentina has issued local currency securities pegged to the US dollar with a total scale of 8.41 trillion Argentine pesos. Such dollar-pegged securities are typically used to help holders hedge against exchange rate fluctuations of the Argentine peso to a certain extent. This large-scale issuance is also a common market-oriented operation adopted by the Argentine government under the current economic environment to raise funds and regulate the liquidity of both local and foreign currencies.
