According to statistics from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), in the week ending September 8, speculative traders in the crude oil market increased their net long positions in West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil by 21,153 contracts, bringing the total to 140,046 contracts. This change in positions typically reflects a rise in bullish sentiment among short-term speculative funds regarding the subsequent price trend of WTI crude oil. Such changes are also commonly used by market participants as one of the reference indicators to judge short-term movements in the crude oil market.
