The statistics released by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) indicate that for the week ending September 8, the net short positions in speculative natural gas positions across the four major markets of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) increased by 3,719 contracts, bringing the total to 54,416 contracts. This change also reflects a growing bearish outlook among speculative capital regarding the short-term price movements of natural gas during the period.
