Data released by Intercontinental Exchange shows that in the week ending September 8, speculative net long positions in Brent crude oil increased by 4,318 contracts, bringing the total to 265,753 contracts. This change reflects a recent increase in bullish sentiment among speculative participants regarding Brent crude oil prices. Such changes in positions are also often used by the market as a reference indicator for short-term expectations of crude oil price trends.
