Bitcoin (BTC) is trading within a narrow range as it consolidates after a strong rally over the summer. Market participants are watching closely as the cryptocurrency approaches key support and resistance levels that may determine its next major move.

Traders monitor support and resistance

Analyst Sweap, who actively shares technical insights with the crypto community, identified robust buying activity around the $75,000 to $76,500 zone. In contrast, concentrated sell orders are reported between $80,000 and $83,000, framing the boundaries of Bitcoin’s current trading range.

Sweap indicated that a break above $83,000 could signal that Bitcoin has confirmed a bottom in the recent correction. However, if the price drops below $75,000, this could intensify selling and potentially trigger a renewed downtrend.

TradingView data shows Bitcoin surged from approximately $59,000 in July to over $80,000 by late August. Following this rally, Bitcoin entered a period of consolidation, experiencing price swings but remaining bounded within these key levels.

Given the decisive nature of these support and resistance zones, the next major move for Bitcoin will likely be determined by which group—buyers or sellers—can assert control in the coming sessions.

The 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) has aligned near $77,013, serving as an immediate technical reference. Meanwhile, the lower Bollinger Band currently lies around $75,792, marking the lower end of the support area.

Additional support can be found at other moving averages. The 50-day EMA stands at $73,512, the 200-day EMA is at $73,071, and the 100-day EMA is found near $71,290. These averages could become critical if the current support zone is breached, possibly prompting increased volatility.

Level Current Value
Support zone $75,000–$76,500
Resistance zone $80,000–$83,000
20-day EMA $77,013
50-day EMA $73,512
100-day EMA $71,290
200-day EMA $73,071

Institutional demand remains strong

Institutional activity is once again supporting Bitcoin’s price action. Whale Insider, a cryptocurrency market monitor, highlighted that BlackRock ETF clients recently purchased $134.35 million in Bitcoin. This substantial acquisition underlines continued high-profile interest in digital assets even as the market consolidates.

BlackRock, based in New York, is the world’s largest asset manager. The firm’s foray into Bitcoin spot ETFs has influenced how traditional investors gain exposure to cryptocurrency markets.

Wu Blockchain, a prominent blockchain analytics service, estimated that US Bitcoin spot ETFs saw a net inflow of $160 million on September 14. BlackRock’s IBIT ETF reportedly attracted the lion’s share of these flows, with approximately $134 million absorbed by this single fund.

Other instruments have also drawn solid demand. US-based spot Ethereum ETFs recorded net inflows of about $121 million, while BlackRock’s ETHA ETF accounted for $80.50 million of that figure. Analysts view these developments as further indications that institutions are seeking exposure to crypto assets, despite ongoing market volatility.

As Bitcoin hovers near pivotal support and resistance zones, traders and investors will closely watch whether institutional buying can help tip the balance in favor of a breakout, or if ongoing selling pressure will see the price return to lower support averages.
